Censorship in Russia as an institute of state control over the printed word in the beginning of the XIXth century

The article examines the issue of developing a scientific concept of building relations between press and authorities and deepening scientific knowledge on the problems of speech freedom. Information flows circulating in society are regulated by censorship as a form of state supervision. Due to the specifics of censorship activity, today it is among the most important and topical problems in the history of Russia.
