Principle of situativeness in the process of implementing a communicative approach in aviation English teaching

The article describes the principle of situativeness as a didactic technique in teaching a language. The functions of the principle of situativeness, the main types of situations of communication and requirements for them are determined. An example of learning the principle of situativeness was the tasks developed by teachers in Aviation English based on the principle of system value. The relevance of the situativeness principle study is associated with the search for new reserves for improving the teaching of a foreign language in an aviation university. The authors come to the conclusion that communicative competence as a goal of teaching can be achieved under the condition of modeling typical situations of the pilot's professional activity in the educational process.
