Adjectival metaphors included in the thematic group "PLANTS"

The article is devoted to the description of the metaphorical use of adjectives naming properties, signs and characteristics included in the idea of plants. The article attempts to generalize and classify the similarities between plants and other objects on which metaphors are based, and also provides some specific explanations of the metaphor mechanism. The functioning of the adjectives under study is analyzed on the material of contexts from the National Corpus of the Russian language.
