Functioning of socio-political euphemisms of the English language in American society

The relevance of the study in the article is due to the increased interest in the phenomenon of socio-political euphemization of English-speaking speech in American society, the general focus of modern linguistics, which involves turning to pragmalinguistics and sociolinguistics. The purpose of the study is to study and designate new aspects of the functioning of the socio-political euphemisms of the English language in American society. The study used universal and empirical methods of scientific knowledge. As a result, the most commonly used socio-political euphemisms of the English language are identified and identified based on journalistic materials from the US media, illustrating the connection with the influence of the state on people's lives, speech-behavioral stereotypes and linguistic and cultural specifics of the English-speaking society. The results obtained can be used in philological studies on the problems of classifying linguistic models for constructing euphemisms, in connection with the strengthening of the role of socio-political trends in the development of English-speaking countries.
