The article is devoted to the expression of the emotion of antipathy in the work “The inspector general” of N. V. Gogol. The attention is drawn to the identification of the functional and semantic features of the linguistic means for transmitting the emotion “antipathy”, and the individual-author's originality in the transmission of this emotion.
