Modern Russian research on the consequences of the Kyuchuk-Kaynardzhi Peace Treaty of 1774

The article analyzes the assessments presented in the works of modern Russian researchers (for the 2000s) of the consequences of the conclusion of the Kyuchuk-Kaynardzhi Peace Treaty of 1774. The results of the Russo-Turkish war of 1768-1774 proved to be crucial not only for the relations between the Russian and Turkish empires, but also for the internal development of Russia, whose assertion as a great power was, not least, due to the annexation of new territories, due to confrontation with neighboring states, also claiming the most important regions in geopolitical terms.
