Features of the "business agreement" genre from the point of speech acts (based on the material of English and Russian languages)

The article is devoted to descripe the features of the «business agreement» genre as a kind of official business style. The purpose is to compare the features of the «business agreement» genre in Russian and English. The main methods are comparative, analytical and descriptive. The author conclude that a business agreement (business contract) refers to a special genre of business documentation that has certain structural, lexical and morphological features. The author points out that locutionary and illocutionary speech acts exist in the text of the contract in Russian and English.
