The article represents a study of the linguo-ecological component of political discourse as one of the special types of discourse that affects the literary form of language. The material for the analysis was the public speeches of Russian politicians over the past 10 years. The work is based on fundamental research of Russian scientists on linguoecology and the theory of political discourse. In the article, the authors analyze lexical units that directly affect the linguo-ecological situation in political discourse, namely: outdated vocabulary, foreign language borrowings, slang, jargon, invective vocabulary. According to the results of the study, it was concluded that most often these types of lexical units are used to implement the emotive function, to impart evaluativeness to the utterance, as well as to get closer to the potential target audience. The use of lexical units, that are not characteristic of the literary norm of the language, by the elite strata of society could become an evidence of transformation literary form, which leads to a blurring of the boundaries between the norms of the literary form of the language.

Keywords:linguoecology, political discourse, political communication, foreign language borrowings, slang, jargon, invective vocabulary.
