Linguistic situation in the Arab world: manifestation of globalization or natural stage of the Arabic language development?

The article is devoted to the analysis of the linguistic situation in the Arab countries, where against the background of the globalization processes there is being enhanced the role of the English language. There appears a completely new form of the Arabic language, that is Arabizi. The relevance of the research is due to the need to study the current state of the Arabic language in the context of globalization and digitalization. The study is based on the comments of Arabic-speaking people on YouTube. In the course of the research, in addition to general scientific methods, there were used the method of purposive sampling and the statistical method. The author comes to the conclusion that the emergence of Arabizi as a written version of the oral form of the Arabic language is not the result of the English language expansion, but it represents a pressing need for a living language to fill the niche that has arisen.
