Applicability of machine translation in translating short pragmatic texts of the linguistic landscape

The article highlights the functional features of small-format pragmatic texts. During an experimental study, the effectiveness of Google Translate, DeepL and PROMT neural machine translation systems was tested on translating short pragmatic texts of the linguistic landscape from Turkish into Russian. The article states the problem of insufficient quality of translations made by machine translation systems, provides a classification of translation errors and presents some possible fields for further research.
