Eastern and western methods of teaching students watercolour painting

Watercolor painting is considered as a method of teaching students in higher educational institutions in both Eastern and Western countries. In China and Japan, due to the proximity of watercolors to traditional art, the training program for future artists includes a separate direction "Watercolor painting". It is understood in China as a link between Gohua and Western European painting, and in Japan as a link with the ancient art of Sumi-e. In Russia, watercolor painting is considered as the initial stage of the educational process in art universities, allowing students to reveal their creative abilities by creating sketches and sketches. In European institutions of higher art education, there is a tendency to exclude watercolor painting from the circle of compulsory disciplines. It is possible to use it in the education of this region only within the framework of individual modules and creative projects, in which the emphasis is on its applied capabilities.
