The article is devoted to the publications of two prominent scholars of theology from the clergy - professors of theology of Tomsk Imperial University Archpriest Dmitry Belikov and Archpriest Jacob Galakhov. Being employees of the main printing body of the Tomsk diocese "Tomsk Diocesan Gazette" (1880-1917) and teachers in the spiritual and secular educational institutions of the city of Tomsk, they found time to write lectures, articles and monographs on various fields of science and on the pressing needs of their time, finding solutions to many issues in spiritual and moral terms, which was reflected in pages of the official church magazine of the Tomsk province. Archpriest Dmitry Belikov and Archpriest Jacob Galakhov, having high academic degrees, wrote and performed for the highly educated part of Tomsk society. The purpose of this study is to identify the role and significance of the publications of these theologians on the pages of the church journal "Tomsk Diocesan Vedomosti". During the work on the article, an integrated approach, a general scientific dialectical method of studying and analyzing social phenomena was applied, which in turn includes the principles of historicism, consistency, objectivity. The study uses all the publications of these professors, which were published in the Tomsk Diocesan Gazette throughout its existence. The results obtained allow us to see the high significance of the publications described in the study for improving the educational level of readers of the church publication "Tomsk Diocesan Gazette", both clergy and secular. One of the conclusions from this study may be that the works published in the Tomsk Diocesan Gazette by Professors Belikov and Galakhov do not lose their relevance in our time, and are waiting for their researchers dealing with the history and local lore of the Tomsk province at the turn of the XIX-XX centuries.
