Lacunarity of the terminological field of modern translation studies in the light of intersemitotics (experimental study)

The article is devoted to the analysis of a fragment of the terminology field of intersemiotic translation in comparison with the linguistic concept of translation. The article presents an analysis of experimental work with graduate students. The reasons of terminological lacunarity and ways of overcoming it in the course of practical work are investigated. Various materials of intersemiotic translation (illustrations, video clips) and specialized translation lexicographic sources are involved. The methods of descriptive and interpretive analysis, the method of dictionary definitions, a survey experiment, and graphical interpretation of data were used. The obtained estimates of genre specificity, the strategy of intersemiotic translation, the lacunarity of the terminology field reveal the need to improve the terminological competence of students and teachers of translation.
