The translation of foreign missionaries in modern China

Translation is an act of social interaction occurring in a particular social context. This article examines the scientific and technical translations of missionary translators in China, focusing on the characteristics of translations in basic science, medicine and modern industrial technology, and their impact on the modernization of Chinese society.
