On felting handicraft vocabulary of Ossetians

The purpose of this article is to fix the lexical material, to analyze the part of the terminological system associated with the traditional economy of the Ossetians, in particular, with the felting handcraft. Namely, the author analyzes the terminological group united by the meaning of "products made of felt" in the Ossetian language. The etymological features of the analyzed material are determined. The article used both descriptive, structural and semantic, component research methods, as well as the method of continuous sampling from dictionaries of the Ossetian language. The results of the study showed that the terminological group related to the felt craft of the Ossetians, naming felt products, consists of both single-component and compound terms. Conclusions are drawn about the origin of the vocabulary of felt products in the Ossetian language, which mainly belongs to the original fund.
