Existential chronosophy in the modern novel: M. Golubkov "Miusskaya square", A. Terekhov "Stone bridge"

Khlebus M. A.  ( Cand. of Sciences (Philology), independent researcher (Moscow))

The article analyses two texts of the Russian prose of the early 21st century: Mikhail Golubkov's novel "Miusskaya Square" (2007) and Alexander Terekhov's "Stone Bridge" (2009). It explores the category of time and the modes of its artistic embodiment using the example of the way Russian history of the first half of the 20th century becomes an object of writers’ creative interest though the value of an individual experience and existence. The article offers a detailed comparison of the concepts of time proposed by the authors in their corresponding works. Various aspects of these novels are analysed through the prism of existentialist philosophy. The three-component structure of the chronotope is singled out as central to the compositional organization of the novels. It is substantiated that in the given works time performs several functions: that of a constructive principle, of a theme, and of the core of philosophical and aesthetic problems.

Keywords:time, Golubkov, Terekhov, chronotope, existentialism.
