RUSSIAN DIVEEVSKY DIALECTS: THE CONTEMPORARY FUNCTIONING

The paper continues the cycle of scientific research of phonetic and morphological features of dialect microsystems in the Nizhny Novgorod region. The author tries to specify the contemporary position the diveevsky dialects take up at the map of the Russian language dialect articulation. The source of the analysis has become the recordings of live dialect speech made over the past few decades during folklore and dialectological expeditions of Nizhny Novgorod State University. The role of ethnic, cultural, and religious factors in the formation of the dialect of the Diveevo microsystem is determined.
