In the article, the author explores the specifics of the national-patriotic education of the younger generation at the present stage of development of society. The paper defines the content of the concept of "patriotic education" and its components in the context of the development of the modern education system. The author's research activity is based on the definition of national identity and its significance in the formation of a citizen's personality. The paper defines the importance of the formation of the national identity of a modern citizen in the conditions of negative socio-political trends in the world. In accordance with the subject of the study, the main goal is to identify the main aspects of national patriotic education of young people in the modern era. The object is the national-patriotic education of youth; the subject is the personality of a patriot citizen. In this context, the author explores the conceptual foundations of national patriotic education, as well as analyzes the experience of their implementation on specific educational examples.
