POLITICAL GEOGRAPHY OF THE BLACK SEA REGION DURING THE SECOND WORLD WAR: RHYTHMS AND PATTERNS OF DYNAMICS

The article is devoted to the problem of fluctuations of political borders and comparative limits of influence of the Black Sea states during the Second World War. on the basis of generalization and analysis of factual material, changes in the degree of influence of states over different periods of the war, the international role of the Pontic region in 1939-1945 are traced. The interrelations between macro–historical and geopolitical trends on the one hand and the phenomenology of the history of everyday life of the region on the other hand are established. Conclusions are drawn about the key role of the Soviet Union in maintaining the geopolitical balance and positive development of the region, as well as about the fundamental harmfulness of interference by external actors in the Black Sea zone with their geopolitical ambitions and projects.
