EPONYMOUS TERMS IN THE LANGUAGE OF MEDICINE

The article deals with the question of the peculiarities of the functioning of eponyms in the language of medicine. The connotative potential of proper names is analyzed, the relationship of onyms and appellatives is indicated. The main nominative models of eponymous terms of medicine are listed. The positive and negative aspects of the use of special vocabulary, including proper names, are noted. Particular attention is paid to the role of eponyms in the language of modern medicine.
