Purpose: To determine the conceptual characteristics of the linguistic and cultural type of "dzhangarchi" (the narrator of the Kalmyk national epic "Dzhangar"), it is necessary to consider the etymology of the word calling dzhangarchi and to establish ways of verbal designation of this concept in the lexical and phraseological semantics of the Kalmyk language.
Methods: the descriptive method, the structural method, the typological method and the method of general linguistic analysis are used in the work.
Results: the type of storyteller (dzhangarchi) in Kalmyk linguoculture is verbalized with the help of a fairly wide group of lexical units representing the basic concepts of the Kalmyk ethno-cultural conceptosphere
Conclusions: The main semantic element of the concept of "dzhangarchi" is a storyteller, a storyteller, a connoisseur of the native language
