This article is devoted to the analysis of neosemantic processes in modern English. The neo-semantization of language signs, forced by extralinguistic factors, reveals the patterns of vocabulary dynamics due to the activation of internal nominative resources and acts as an indicator of changes in the perception of reality by native speakers, their assessment of the newest fragments of reality. The article postulates the idea that the processes of semantic changes in vocabulary have reached such a scale that they have gone beyond semantic derivation and today may indicate a phenomenon of a more global order – the semantic evolution of the vocabulary.

Keywords:neo-semantization, vocabulary, semantic derivation, metaphor, Internet communication
