TRANSFORMATION OF THE PLOT "BEAUTY AND THE BEAST" IN THE NOVEL "JANE EYRE" BY S. BRONTE

This article is devoted to the study of the connections of the world plot "Beauty and the Beast" with the novel Sh. Bronte "Jane Eyre". At the same time, the variation of the motif of beauty and the motif of ugliness in the text of the work is considered. The purpose of the work is to identify the parallels of folklore and novel plots, on the basis of which to describe the transformation of the plot "Beauty and the Beast" in the novel of the English writer, to describe the variants of the motives of beauty and ugliness. The research material was a group of fairy tales about a stepmother and stepdaughter, the English version of the fairy tale "Bluebeard" and the text of the novel "Jane Eyre". In the course of comparative study, the variation of the motives of "beauty-ugliness" was revealed, the implementation of the folklore plot in the English novel was considered. Using an analytical method, the author traces the connections of the author's novel with folklore texts, which makes it possible to interpret the famous work in a new way. It is concluded that the novel is based on Sh. Bronte's "Jane Eyre" is the plot of "Beauty and the Beast.
