The article reflects the activities of the Central Council of the Society for the Promotion of Defense and Aviation and Chemical Construction (Osoaviakhim) of the North Ossetian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic during the Great Patriotic War. Strengthening the country's defense capability and assisting the Red Army by training combat reserves has become a priority task of this public organization in military conditions. Based on the analysis of the materials of the Central Council of the Osoaviakhim North Ossetian ASSR, stored in the State Archive of the Modern History of the Republic North Ossetia-Alania, the features of the organization's activities are revealed.
