Balakin Sergey Vladimirovich  (Doctor of Philology, Associate Professor, Ural State University of Railway Transport Ekatherinburg )

Moskvina Yuliya Alexandrovna  (Teaching assistant, Ural State University of Railway Transport Ekatherinburg )

The research purpose is to identify the main goals of I. V. Stalin’s religious policy in relation to Russian Protestants (Pentecostals, Baptists, Mennonites and Adventists). The period under research correlates with the war and post-war years of the formation of the first Protestant communities, presented by German Labor Army and German special settlers, in the Middle Urals. The reliability of the conclusions is ensured by the high representativeness of the material, in particular, written (archival documents of the SARF, SAPC, SASO) and oral (believers’ memoirs) sources.
