THE PROBLEMATIC FIELD OF TEACHING STUDENTS TO PERFORM PIANO MUSIC BY MODERN COMPOSERS

The article discusses the problems, opportunities and prospects arising in piano pedagogy in connection with the replenishment of the repertoire of students with works by contemporary composers. The author points out that currently two main vectors have been formed in the composition of piano music – these are classical and avant-garde vectors. A pianist needs to develop versatile skills that allow him to interpret music written within the traditions of different eras, to show the ability to artistry and consistently enrich his performing style. The teacher also needs to build an individual trajectory of the student's development and ensure the expansion of his performing horizons.
