The publication of the two-volume edition of S.V. Lesnikov "Metalanguage of linguistics. Problems of systematization of the terminosystem" (Vol. 1) and "Lexicon of the terminosystem" (Vol. 2, 2021) is an important event in modern Russian lexicography. The purpose of this large-scale research is to systematize the terminological system of the linguistics meta-language and to construct a hypertext information retrieval thesaurus (gizaurus). The author proposes the concept of a new type of dictionary – gizaurus. The paper pays special attention to its characteristics, structure, formal and substantive features. The basis of the gizaurus is the thesaurus representation of lexical material, since it is the thesaurus connections of terms that make it possible to show the consistency of terminology, which is an expression of the corresponding system of concepts. The database collected by S.V. Lesnikov covers Russian linguistic terminology from M.V. Lomonosov to the present day. The sources of the gizaurus were dictionaries of linguistic terms of the Russian language, including translated dictionaries, articles from the academic journal "Questions of Linguistics" (1952 – 2021) and a number of the most representative works on the theory and history of domestic and foreign linguistics. This lexicon is actually a quotation, i.e., as a rule, the author does not resort to his own interpretations of concepts, but selects ready-made (brief, but capacious) definitions from various primary sources. Such a dictionary is not only a way of presenting linguistic terminology, but also a way of researching it.
