In the global world of linguistics, there are many claims concerning the study of the number of nouns in different languages. In our research, we touch upon the issue of comparative analysis of the number of nouns in Russian and Chinese. Based on previous studies, there is a hypothesis about a significant difference in their number, based on differences in grammatical structure and interaction with cultural aspects. According to linguistic sources, the number of nouns in the Russian language exceeds 150,000, including all forms and their declensions. In Chinese, taking into account the inherent features, such as the absence of grammatical gender and number, the number of nouns ranges around 50,000. A comparative analysis of these two great languages of the world will provide an opportunity to delve into the understanding of their uniqueness, structure and features. Such an analysis will give us the opportunity not only to identify differences in the number of nouns, but also to shed light on how these differences affect the process of learning, translation and intercultural communication.
