LINGUOCULTURAL STUDY OF PHRASEOLOGICAL UNITS, HAVING SUCH SYMBOLIC COMPONENTS AS “FOOD”, “MEALS”

The article is devoted to the linguistic and cultural analysis of phraseological units as special signs of the language that preserve and transmit the cultural memory of the people from generation to generation. Particular attention is paid to phraseological phrases with the symbolic component "food", "meals". The author interprets the linguistic and cultural, deep semantics of these figurative expressions, based on some mythological, scientific-cognitive and naive understanding of the world picture. Such linguistic and cultural analysis helps to understand better the symbolic or quasi-symbolic function of cultural realia contained in a phraseological unit.
