IDIOMS WITH THE TIME LEXEME IN ENGLISH AS A REFLECTION OF THE NATIONAL LINGUISTIC PICTURE OF THE WORLD

The article is devoted to the English idioms with the lexical component time. The purpose of the research is a structural-semantic analysis of the idioms with the lexeme time in English. Scientific novelty of the research includes analyzing structural and concept rows in the idioms with the lexeme time. As a result, the research proves, that the idioms with the lexeme time, which can be a subject and an object of an action, according to the structural-grammatical features are subdivided into verbal, subjective, adverbial. According to the semantic peculiarities the idioms with the lexeme time are subdivided into the following concept rows: time as a decisive moment, success, failure; time as a changing force; time as a property; time as inevitability, time as a moving object; time as value; time as a reservoir; time as intense action.
