The article is devoted to the analysis of livestock activities of population of Gorno-Altaisk in 1990s - 2000s. The research has shown that livestock farming of city residents directly depended on the sociopolitical situation in the country. This research explores species composition of livestock and poultry and the system of keeping farm animals in conditions of Gorno-Altaisk.
