This article discusses advanced methodologies and techniques for teaching higher mathematics, with an emphasis on agricultural universities in the Russian Federation. The scientific novelty and practical significance of the study lies in highlighting the main trends and approaches in mathematics education, which contribute to stimulating independent thinking of students, accelerating their academic growth and developing professionalism. The author provides an in-depth analysis of adaptive and flexible teaching methods, in which the use of emerging technologies and digital tools, such as interactive software and visualization tools for modeling and solving applied problems, can improve students' understanding of basic mathematical concepts and principles. The article also highlights the importance of reviewing and updating curricula to integrate innovative teaching practices and create meaningful, connective and relevant learning environments. In addition, the paper discusses the importance of preparing students for future careers by developing competencies in demand in the job market, including problem-oriented thinking, analytical skills, and the ability to perform complex calculations. In today's educational environment, where student autonomy and quality of learning are becoming key, the author reminds readers of the critical role of higher mathematics as a tool for learning, developing and preparing students for successful academic and professional careers. As a result of the study, the author provides critical comments and recommendations regarding increasing the effectiveness of the use of advanced technologies in teaching mathematics to agricultural students.
