THE ROLE OF SPORTS TERMINOLOGY IN ENRICHING THE AZERBAIJANI LANGUAGE

The article is devoted to the role of sports terminology in enriching the Azerbaijani language. In the modern period, important tasks are being set for linguists and young researchers in the field of the development of sports linguistics. A lot of work has been done in the field of sports terminology. Terms related to a number of sports areas have been analyzed from a linguistic point of view, serious research has been conducted on both theoretical issues of terminology and linguistic analysis of terms in a number of scientific fields. Research shows that today the main part of the terminology base consists of terms created on the basis of the internal capabilities of the language. These terms are formed by giving additional meaning to commonly used words, using dialect words, returning obsolete words to the language, adding suffixes to national and borrowed words, combining two or more words.
