SOCIAL AND CULTURAL LIFE OF RUSSIAN MILITARY EMIGRATION IN NORTHEAST CHINA IN THE FIRST HALF OF THE TWENTIETH CENTURY

The article examines the socio-cultural aspects of the life of the Russian military emigration in China up to the middle of the XX century. It is noteworthy that the greatest flow of Russian military emigration occurred during the revolution and the Russian Civil War of 1917-1920. Representatives from among the former military were the most active layer in the political and social life of Russian emigration in China. Military emigrants have also played an important role in the development of education and the Chinese economy. Russian Russian military emigration, despite the negative socio-political situation, had a tangible impact on Russian youth, preserving Russian spiritual, cultural and patriotic traditions in an alien culture.
