TYPES OF COMPOUND WORDS IN THE RUSSIAN LANGUAGE

The prevalence of complex abbreviated words in the Russian language has led to a high scientific interest in the study of this phenomenon in linguistics. Currently, there is a need to develop a complete and consistent classification of compound words in the Russian language. In this regard, within the framework of this article, using the methods of descriptive analysis and systematization, two main groups of approaches to the selection of types of compound words, including formal and onomasiological, were identified. As a result of the analysis of classifications of different authors, a universal approach to the selection of types of compound words in the Russian language is proposed.
