CODE SWITCHING AS A MANIFESTATION OF ENDOGLOSSIC INTERFERENCE IN THE WORKS OF MODERN ITALIAN WRITERS

The article deals with a relatively new object of interdisciplinary research at the intersection of literature and linguistics – the Code Switching in fictional texts. This phenomenon, initially identified within the framework of contact linguistics on the example of interference in the speech of bilinguals, Creole and Mixed Languages, has its realization also in written texts of a certain genre (first of all, in the so-called «regional detective novel»), especially in the literature of countries with an endoglossic language policies. The sociolinguistic approach to the analysis of literature allows us to develop new criteria for describing linguistic variation.
