THE CONCEPT «FEHLER» IN THE GERMAN TERMINOLOGICAL SYSTEM OF STANDARDIZED LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY TESTING

The aim of the study is to identify special lexical units verbalizing different aspects of the concept Fehler in the sphere of standardized German language proficiency testing, and to establish semantic relations between them. Modern manuals describing the structure of the Goethe Zertifikat for all language levels serve as material. Possible reasons for the diversity of special vocabulary in the semantic group Fehler are pointed out: extralinguistic (differentiation of error types to achieve objectivity and accuracy of evaluation) and linguistic (striving for aesthetic speech). The presence of a branched paradigm of special lexemes to denote quantitative (multiplicity, frequency) and qualitative (occasionality, significance for communication, etc.) characteristics of the concept Fehler indicates its significant positions in the terminological system of standardized language proficiency testing.
