This article is devoted to the study of the words ҙur "big" and balakay "small" in the Bashkir language, since these lexical units play a certain role in the value-aesthetic picture of the world of the Bashkir people. The object of the study is their semantics and features of functioning, recorded in lexicographic sources and literary texts of the Bashkir language. The main purpose of the study is to study and identify the functional and semantic characteristics of these adjectives as a means of linguistic nomination of spatial features.
