The relevance of this paper is due to the fact that the lack of sufficient motor activity is the cause of the following diseases: diabetes, coronary heart disease, obesity. Motor skills play an important role in the life of a higher education student, influencing the educational process, social interaction and medical indicators. The aim of this paper is to analyse the organisational and methodological conditions that allow to increase the motor activity of students in higher education. This goal mediates the implementation of the following tasks: to disclose the content of the concept of "motor (motor) skills"; to cite studies confirming the need to increase their effectiveness; to propose the author's methodology for increasing the effectiveness of motor activity of students in the framework of physical education classes at the university (will include four exercises); to propose the introduction of the lecture part of physical education classes in the university programme, which will increase the motivation and interest of students for physical education classes. The material basis of the study was formed by the works of the following authors: E.V. Koneeva, L.S. Dvorkin, R. Devi, I. Veravati, K. Highwood, N. Getchell and others. As a result, it is concluded that to date the methodological and organisational conditions, according to which the physical culture classes in higher education institution are formed, do not allow to increase the efficiency of students' motor activity. For this reason, we proposed the author's methodology (structural programme of physical training), which includes the following exercises: jumping rope, kettlebell swings, stretching and coordination exercises. In addition, it is proposed to introduce a lecture part for physical education classes at the university, in which the teacher will motivate students to do sports.
