MOTIVATIONAL ASPECT OF LEARNING ENGLISH AS THE MEANS OF PROFESSIONAL COMMUNICATION IN MARITIME UNIVERSITIES

This article examines the increasing the motivation for learning English by cadets of Maritime universities. Considering the language as the means of professional communication, the author of the article reveals the entity and ways of organization of the teaching process in the context of foreign language training. Revealing the conception of cadets’ motivation in the process of learning English in Maritime university the author of the article notes the urgent need to change the principles of teaching Maritime English and considers that an English language teacher should use teaching methods and forms of work keeping interest for the subject. The author distinguishes and describes such methods as Round Table, discussion, role play, project method, modeling of situations. The author of the article concludes that these methods not only have an impact on the formation of lexical, grammatical, communicative skills, but also create conditions for further improvement in English.
