CONTENT-ORIENTED APPROACH TO THE FORMATION AND DEVELOPMENT OF PROFESSIONAL FOREIGN-LANGUAGE COMMUNICATION SKILLS OF STUDENTS OF NON-LINGUISTIC HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTIONS

The article is devoted to the study of the methodological foundations of professionally-oriented teaching of a foreign language to students of non-linguistic universities on the basis of content (content). The author substantiates the relevance and significance of the research topic. It is noted that in the context of a systematic reduction in the volume of foreign language hours in modern universities, there is a need to reorient the teaching model to external "rails", and therefore the selection of appropriate methodological tools. It is postulated that the basis of this toolkit should be an interdisciplinary approach, involving the retransmission of professional knowledge in a foreign language format. The position is proved that the content-oriented approach can be considered as one of the methodological approaches that meet the specified requirements, allowing to achieve substantive and meta-subject results in the short term under time constraints. Authentic video content is proposed as a learning tool (tool), its advantages are listed and practical examples are presented.
