WAYS TO OVERCOME GRAMMATICAL DIFFICULTIES IN TEACHING THE TRANSLATION OF PASSIVE CONSTRUCTIONS AT A NON-LINGUISTIC HIGHER EDUCATION INSTITUTION

The aim of the article is to describe the process of removing grammatical difficulties when teaching the translation of English passive constructions into Russian. In order to achieve the goal the following tasks were carried out. Theoretical literature has been analyzed and the best practices of modern both Russian and foreign linguists and methodologists, whose works are devoted to the theory and methods of teaching translation, have been studied. The importance of students' understanding of the systemic differences between English and Russian, as well as developing the necessary grammatical competence to conduct a structural-semantic analysis of a sentence when translating was revealed. The need to teach students to distinguish between the main types of passive constructions is established. The methodology of overcoming grammatical difficulties is presented using examples of translating sentences from authentic technical texts on military and aviation subjects.
