FEATURES OF ONLINE COMMENTS: METALANGUAGE ASPECT

The article presents a study of Internet comments in a metalanguage context. The multi-aspect manifestation of metalanguage consciousness is revealed, the metalanguage potential of Internet judgments is¬ determined. The results of the analysis of the material allow to emphasize the thesis about the presence of key features of comments in the metalanguage aspect – evaluativeness and linguistic conservatism. Evaluativeness, being the basic dominant of the comment, has different levels of manifestation – from graphic to syntactic. Linguistic conservatism, what is not always a correlative feature of an evaluative utterance, is expressed in continuity with traditional, and therefore unchangeable, representation about language. These signs are dominant, especially significant for the characteristic of Internet reflections in the metalanguage fragment. This circumstance determines the relevance of the research.
