ON THE HISTORY OF THE AFGHAN TURKS’ DIALECTS AND SUBDIALECTS STUDY

The relevance of this paper lies in the fact that dialects and subdialects of the Turks of Afghanistan have been studied very little so far, there are only a few studies devoted to this topic in the Russian and foreign Turkology. Their study cannot be overestimated as they have preserved the linguistic features lost by other dialects and subdialects of the languages in question. Such materials can also shed light on the dialectal base that had served for the formation of the Chagatai language, and help in compiling a more accurate dialectological atlas of Turkic languages.
