SPATIAL RELATIONS AND ITS REFLECTION IN THE MATERIAL OF FICTION TEXTS (BASED ON TEXTS WRITTEN BY M.GORKY)

This article describes the main means of expressing spatial relations used by M. Gorky in some of his works of the early period of creativity. Data of the study described in this article was based on the constructions with spatial semantics found in the material of M. Gorky's stories "Chelkash", "Starukha Izergil", "Makar Chudra", "Karamora", as well as in the text of M. Gorky's drama "At the Bottom".The author briefly characterizes the main features of the interpretation of representations of space, reflected in the history of science, as well as in linguistic and literary science. The article describes the correlation of the constructions with spatial semantics from M. Gorky's works revealed by the method of continuous sampling. The author characterizes and estimates the number of means of different linguistic levels, and describes their role in the creation of artistic images and reflection of the linguistic picture of the world as a whole. The author also makes a conclusion about the most widely and poorly represented in the considered linguistic material of different-level means of expressing spatial relations, characteristic of the modern Russian language.
