The article discusses the results of the introduction of the interval training method according to the system of Dr. Izumi Tabata, which was tested in the system of general physical training of students of Bauman Moscow State Technical University. The study analyzes the dynamics of the functional state and working capacity of students, assesses its effectiveness and compatibility in the organization of the educational process on the subject of "Physical culture and Sports". The experimental data must be taken into account for the implementation of the variable part of the program of professionally applied physical training of students of technical universities.
