THE CONCEPT OF A GOOD NAME IN LINGUISTIC AND LEGAL ASPECTS

The article deals with the concept of "good name" in linguistic and legal aspects. The authors place special emphasis on the semantic side of the concept and its synonymous field. In addition, the idea is put forward of the need to specify the concept in law-making literature, since it is an independent subject of protection in accordance with the Constitution of the Russian Federation. The purpose of the article is to consider the semantic component and discourse of one of the most important concepts of law related to defamation. The authors, using empirical research methods, consider issues of a moral, ethical and legal nature associated with the use of the phrase "good name", the relationship from the point of view of law with the synonyms "honor", "reputation". The article concludes that it is necessary to describe the functional-semantic field of the concept for the correctness of law enforcement and to establish the fact of discrediting honor and dignity.
