ON LITERAL TRANSLATION BASED ON SIMILARITIES IN THE SYNTACTIC RULES OF CHINESE AND RUSSIAN

The literal translation is most often evaluated negatively in the domestic and foreign literature as a "bad translation method" with its little value in terms of actual application and theoretical research. With the help of parallel translation corpus, we can see that this particular translation method is quite common in the Russian-Chinese translation practice, forming correspondence between the original text and its translation, it is common not only on the lexical level, but also on the level of sentences and texts. With this in mind, this article defines the main purpose of the research: to determine the rationality and scientificity of literal translation as a translation method. The scientific novelty of the study lies in a comprehensive analysis of literal translation in the Russian-Chinese translation practice. As a result of the analysis of the problem, sufficient grounds for applying this type of translation due to some common characteristics of the syntactic system in the Chinese and Russian languages have been identified, and the principles of its application in the Russian-Chinese translation practice have been proposed.
