FIGURATIVE CHARACTERISTICS OF HUMAN PHYSICAL PROPERTIES IN THE GERMAN LANGUAGE

The article is devoted to the study of the specifics of the secondary nomination, which characterizes the physical properties of a person in the German language. The work defines and describes the specifics of using metaphors in the German language that figuratively describe the physical properties of a person, which are one of the main characteristics of a person. The analysis of lexemes recorded in dictionaries reveals the predominance of metaphorical nominations with a negative assessment of a person. Metaphorical transfer in the selected nominations is carried out according to the following thematic groups: animals, mythological characters, literary characters and mechanisms.
