The article discusses the advantages and disadvantages of distance work in the field of teaching Russian as a foreign language in universities. The features of teaching oral and written speech to students of different nationalities are considered. As a way to optimize learning, it is proposed to consider two virtual excursions created by the authors and tested in universities. The results of a survey of students on the benefits of these virtual excursions are discussed. At the end of the work, methodological recommendations are given.
